We're All Using An Ice Roller Now, Right?
It’s actually pretty easy to sell me on a new skincare trend. Tell me to stick my face in a bowl of frozen shrimp while listening to Amy Grant in order to keep my skin looking dewey and bright and I’m probably going to try it at least once. So when I first heard about ice rollers, it didn’t take much.
An ice roller is a plastic rolling thingy with a freezable rotating spinny wheel at the top that lives in your freezer. It’s science. And comes out once or twice a day to roll all over your face after you wash and moisturize. I use mine right after I’ve applied my morning face and eye cream while I answer emails (read: shop online) , but work it into your schedule any way you like.
At best, it’s helping to de-puff your eye area and face, improve circulation, and assist with lymph drainage. And even if it didn’t do all that, it still feels fucking great. I’m thrilled to have found this 11 dollar (yep) tool prior to summer, when I’m also going to petition this company for a body-sized iced roller because my air conditioning sucks. If you need more incentive than a daily face massage, I actually have noticed a reduction in my (significant) eye puffage and a depuffing of my jawline which is something I didn’t even know was an option but I’m thrilled.
It’s silly easy to use, just be mindful that the roller can feel a little stiff at first from where any residual water has frozen from when you washed it after the last use, so give it a few rolls with your hand to get it moving. I keep mine in a plastic baggie to keep any freezer germs (?) from infiltrating my beloved skincare tool.
